The Raleigh North Carolina State Farmers
Market is a fresh, open market that offers an enjoyable respite from the
day-to-day routine. The Farmers Market offers fresh produce and local products,
two restaurants and specialty shops.
Products include horticultural crops, poultry, green industry dairy, field crops livestock and aquaculture rarites. According to the Farmers Market Web site the Farmers Market sells more than 300 different items. Twenty-five thousand spaces are rented to growers for sales of locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, plants, Christmas trees and crafts. Total package sales exceed 5,000,000 cartons equaling $60,000,000 in gross revenue each year.
The restaurants include a popular seafood restaurant that serves fish from local coasts. The Farmers Market Restaurant prepares traditional breakfasts and lunches.
